Volunteers Needed at Traditions of Wayland

traditions of waylandVolunteers to go on trips with our residents will help ensure additional oversight, assist wheelchair bound residents and increase everyone’s likelihood of having fun. Trip examples include local museums, theaters, and tours of wineries, sanctuaries and estates.

Our memory care neighborhood is looking for volunteers to work one on one with residents. Activities could include games, walking or other exercise, arts and crafts, reading, story-telling, cooking, etc.

Evening reading group/book club coordinator/reader is needed for independent and assisted residents. This could be just one evening a week for 1 1/2 hours with a little prep time before.

Our chorus is getting organized and we need a manager and other musically inclined volunteers to help with our winter program. This would involve working with our activities staff to select music, teach residents the songs and set up for concerts. Piano player is especially needed. Four to six hours of time required per week including two rehearsals. Will start right away and go until March (or beyond if the volunteers want to keep going).

Walkers are needed! We have a number of able-bodied residents who love to walk and talk. Why not get your own exercise while helping another and possibly end up making a friend? During the winter we can walk in our building or at the mall (travel via our van). Volunteers needed every day of the week. If you can just spare one hour a week, please do!

Evening game players are needed. Our residents love to gamble! If you do, come party with us. There are also residents who enjoy board games.

Interested volunteers can email Janie Belive, Activities Director or Erin Koenig, Reflections Memory Care Director, or call them at 508-358-0700
