NStar to move massive transformer through Framingham, Wayland, Sudbury

Wayland Town Crier 10/28/14: NStar to move massive transformer through Framingham, Wayland, Sudbury. Star will be transporting a new 170-ton electrical transformer through Framingham, Wayland and Sudbury this weekend.
The transformer will arrive in Framingham by rail. The transformer, which NStar says is essential for a major upgrade project in MetroWest, will travel othrough Wayland starting at 8:30pm Sunday, with the trailer heading north on Old Connecticut Path, onto Rte. 126 through Wayland and ending in Sudbury on Boston Post Road. The vehicle transporting the transformer will travel slowly on its way to a substation in Sudbury. A convoy of vehicles and personnel will accompany the trailer, including utility crews to lift overhead wires and police and escort vehicles to help divert and direct traffic.
