WaylandeNews received this press release from Brian LeFort on January 9:

Framingham Town Meeting Member and legislative staffer, Brian J. LeFort, announced he will seek the Democratic nomination for State Representative from the 13th Middlesex District, on the heels of State Representative Thomas Conroy’s announced bid for State Treasurer in 2014.

“I am excited about the opportunity to engage the residents of Sudbury, Wayland, Framingham, and Marlborough”, said Mr. LeFort. “I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective, my community experience, and legislative know-how to this race. This campaign will be a grassroots effort to connect with residents about what we can accomplish as a collective group to move the region forward into the 21st Century and beyond.”

LeFort, 25, has lived in Framingham his entire life and attended Framingham Public Schools. A Town Meeting Member since 2010, he has served on both the Rules and Public Safety Standing Committees. A graduate of Suffolk University with a dual degree in History and Political Science, LeFort has served as a legislative staffer in the Office of State Representative Chris Walsh since 2010.

As a fixture of many MetroWest volunteer organizations, LeFort has begun reaching out to those in the district he has yet to meet and continuing conversations with neighbors and friends. Through these conversations, he hopes to engage residents in the issues that they find pressing and learn what priorities matter the most to the district.
