Preview of the Wednesday, October 2 Board of Selectmen Meeting

The meeting originally scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2013 has been moved to October 2, 2013 because of a conflict with a School presentation on Monday night.

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Wayland Town Building beginning at 6:45 p.m. The meeting will begin with an executive session to discuss pending litigation in the matter of Twenty Wayland, LLC v Town of Wayland and the WWMDC, and to review executive session minutes from September 9, 2013, September 16, 2013 and September 23, 2013, and to discuss collective bargaining strategy pertaining to contract negotiations with School unions.

At 7:20 the Chair will call the open session to order in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room.  After reviewing the meeting agenda for the viewing public and making any announcements, a public comment will be held.

At approximately 7:35 p.m., the Board will review the Town Administrator employment agreement and job description, and/or discuss all possible action as allowable under the terms of the agreement including whether to exercise the authority of the Board to confirm and ratify termination of the employment contract of the Town Administrator under the ‘without cause’ provisions of that contract.

Then the Board will meet with the Personnel Board to review the Town Administrator’s job description and continue a discussion relative to the Town Administrator search.

Beginning at approximately 9:05 pm, Selectmen will review the status of warrant articles for Special Town Meeting and order the articles for insertion into the warrant.

At approximately 9:45 pm the Selectmen will consider the consent calendar, vote on releasing executive session minutes from September 9, 2013, September 16, 2013 and September 23, 2013, review correspondence, and listen to the report of the Acting Town Administrator.  Selectmen will then offer their reports and concerns.

The meeting begins at 6:45 p.m. in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room.  This press release is a summary of the principal items to be discussed.  A copy of the full meeting agenda is attached.
