Sidewalks, Traffic, Parking Still Questions for Finnerty’s Site

Wayland Patch 5/9/13: Sidewalks, Traffic, Parking Still Questions for Finnerty’s Site. The Planning Board Tuesday thanked developers for responding to Design Review Board feedback, but asked them to continue tweaking the newest plan for 150 Main St.

Developers have proposed what they say is intended to be a plan that meets all of Wayland’s setback, zoning, parking and other requirements, thereby making it a “by-right” development. The plan calls for a single building, a CVS, to be constructed, along with the necessary 103 parking spaces required by Wayland’s bylaw based on the size of the proposed building.

In March, however, they withdrew their special permit request related to parking and signage relief after learning they would need Zoning Board of Appeals approval to construct outdoor seating at the planned restaurant.

Wayland Town Crier 4/25/13: Developers bring forward ‘by-right’ CVS proposal for Cochituate. Three months and one day after the Planning Board unanimously approved a proposal to transform the former Finnerty’s Restaurant in Cochituate into a variety of uses, including a CVS Pharmacy, the board began a public hearing Tuesday night into a new proposal to again locate a CVS on the site. The difference this time around is the proposal calls solely for a nearly 12,000-square-foot CVS Pharmacy, while the former Finnerty’s Restaurant, which has been vacant for several years, would be demolished and removed.
