Trip to Boston Symphony Orchestra Open Rehearsal

On Thursday, Jan. 19, travel in the Council on Aging van to Symphony Hall for a Boston Symphony Orchestra Open Rehearsal. The van leaves the COA at 9am and returns at 1:30pm. Reservations are required. The cost for transportation is $20; riders must purchase their own Boston Symphony tickets (www.bso.org or 888-266-1200). Making her BSO debut, violinist Nicola Benedetti joins conductor Karina Canellakis in her Symphony Hall debut for Karel Szymanowski’s scintillating Violin Concerto No. 2 from 1933, his last major work. His compatriot Witold Lutosławski’s folk-music influenced Concerto for Orchestra (1954) helped establish his international reputation.
