Human Rights, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (HRDEIC) announces Wayland Lived Experiences results

Thank you, Wayland community, for supporting the Wayland Lived Experiences Project! This collection of personal stories about identity-based intolerance and mistreatment has ended. The data collected from this project helped to build support for the Select Board to create the Human Rights, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (HRDEIC) in the spring of 2021.  As that new committee is currently working to create an anonymous hotline for incident reporting, we feel it’s time to officially mark the end of the Lived Experiences Project collection effort.
Thank you to everyone who provided submissions.  We recognize the emotional toll that hateful incidents take, and are grateful for the strength of our community members who were willing to share their stories.
Thank you to the individuals and organizations that promoted the project, shared the survey link, or encouraged anyone to submit an experience. Thank you First Parish in Wayland and South Natick Law for financial assistance.
