Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) will be hosting its 5th annual Trail Fest, a celebration of local trails, on Saturday, June 11 (rain date Sunday, June 12). After years of basing the event on Northwest Framingham’s conservation lands, this year’s Trail Fest will be held in Wayland at Mainstone Farm and Hamlen Woods. Mainstone Farm is the largest remaining piece of undeveloped, unprotected open space in Wayland, and one of the few of its size in the region. Consisting of over 200 acres of bucolic, rolling pastures and wooded hillsides, Mainstone Farm is the focus of SVT’s largest land protection effort to date. For Trail Fest, SVT invites walkers to enjoy the iconic beauty of Mainstone Farm and woodlands of Hamlen Woods, and choose from 10K, 6K, and family-friendly 3K guided walks in the morning. Participants will begin by stretching with Earthsong Yoga and then venture out to explore the historic landscape. After the walks, a bbq festival will feature live music from the Milltown Rounders, baby animals from McDonny’s Traveling Farm, native plant projects, Wayland Fire Department demos, and fun for all ages with face painting, tug of war, cornhole, and sack races. SVT members: $5 per person, $10 per family, non-members: $10 per person, $25 per family. Special thanks to our generous sponsor Waymark Wealth Management. Registration required.
