Sudbury Valley Trustees offers Bat Box Workshop, Saturday, April 9

batboxSudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) is offering a Bat Box Workshop on Saturday, April 9, 10:30am-12pm at Wolbach Farm, 18 Wolbach Road in Sudbury. Bats, small nocturnal mammals, can eat 1200 mosquitos per hour throughout the night.

Attracting bats to your property can reduce disease-carrying mosquitos, as well as other insects harmful to gardens. Participants will learn about our local bats and assemble an ecologically sound bat box to install in the backyard. Materials will be pre-cut. Registration is required by March 25 to prepare materials. SVT Members: $35, Non-Members, $50. For more details and to register, visit www.svtweb.org/calendar or call 978-443-5588 X123.

SVT and nearly 3000 members protect and care for land and wildlife habitat in 36 communities surrounding the Concord, Assabet, and Sudbury Rivers.
