waylandreadsJoin your friends and neighbors in the Wayland Reads programs coming this March!

The 2015 Wayland Reads selection is “The Opposite of Loneliness,” by Wayland writer Marina Keegan. Marina died tragically in a car accident days after graduating from Yale in 2012. Marina’s family shared her writing and her spirit with the world in the 2014 book release.

The-Opposite-of-Loneliness-by-Marina-Keegan-NYTMarina’s short stories and essays in this collection appeal to middle-schoolers through adults, and with help from her former teachers and her family the community will learn more about Marina’s passion for writing and some of the influences that shaped this collection. Wayland Reads has planned writing workshops and book discussions for all ages, journaling crafts for children, and a panel on social activism that will feature influential young adults from Wayland and the organizations and charities they’ve founded.

Copies of the book are available to borrow from the Wayland Free Public Library, and copies are available for purchase at Russell’s Garden Center and The Wayland Depot.

Join us for one or many upcoming programs and discussions, beginning in March, 2015. Visit waylandlibrary.org/waylandreads for more information on the book and full event details.
