Wayland resident, advocate for Sudbury River remembered

Wayland Town Crier 1/7/15: Wayland resident, advocate for Sudbury River remembered. As a longtime resident of Pelham Island Road, Sally Newbury was well acquainted with the wild side of the Sudbury River, as flooding on the road is nearly an annual event. Newbury was one of the first and most influential in town to recognize the value of the waterway and its adjacent wetlands and, as a member of the Conservation Commission, put in countless hours to protect this resource. She died unexpectedly on Dec. 29 at the age of 86.
