Wayland music teacher to perform at Goodnow Library in Sudbury, January 11 at 3pm

EdMascariJazzTrioThe Ed Mascari Jazz Trio (made up of Ed Mascari on piano, Rebecca Wellons on saxophone and flute, and Marliese Ballon on upright bass) will perform a one-hour concert on Sunday, Jan. 11 at the Goodnow Library in Sudbury at 3pm.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Sudbury Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The Ed Mascari Jazz Trio has given concerts at the Wayland, Hudson, Marlborough and Stow libraries, and performs at the Harvest Café in Hudson on the first Saturday of every month.

Playing such songs as “Night and Day,” “Someday My Prince Will Come,” “Just Friends” and “Secret Love,” plus a few inspiring originals, these three radiate a sense of fun performing for multiple generations. Mascari has maintained a professional performing career for more than four decades. He has been teaching piano to adults and children for the past 35 years at the Ed Mascari Piano Studio with in Natick and Hudson. Wellons directs the jazz and concert bands and teaches general music at Wayland Middle School. In the past, she has taught saxophone and music history at Bridgewater State University, directed public school bands and music for grades 3 to 12, and maintained a successful private teaching studio.
