Wayland Town Crier 12/11/14: Wayland residents remain frustrated with board’s meeting law violations. The chairwoman of the School Committee Thursday night insisted that the board’s that the board’s near-silence about the controversy over METCO finances is not the protection of any one person. “Certainly it’s not that I don’t want to disclose it. I do,” Chairwoman Ellen Grieco said, of information regarding at least $20,000 in METCO money used to pay down the METCO director’s personal credit cards. “I do believe it is in the best interest of the town of Wayland.” Grieco’s remarks were made to an audience of about 30 people gathered for a special session to clear the air. The revelation was part of a specially scheduled open discussion between Wayland taxpayers and the school board, meant to clear the air on the School Committee’s Open Meeting Law complaints and violations.
