Police investigating reports of vandalism

vandalismWayland Police are investigating several reports of vandalism that occurred on the night of November 30th. Police received reports of a house and a car being struck by eggs. There were also numerous street signs in town that were damaged by being hit by paint balls. Signs on Main Street, Pequot Road, School Street, Millbrook Road, and Woodridge Road were defaced by paintballs.

On Wednesday, two employees from the Department of Public Works spent the entire day cleaning more than 40 street signs that had been damaged. According to Chief Irving, “This type of behavior causes unnecessary hardship for homeowners and wastes taxpayer’s dollars and town employee’s time. If identified, the perpetrator(s) will be prosecuted.”
