Wayland Town Crier 9/26/14: Wayland FinCom continues long-term planning. At the second of four meetings to discuss long-term planning goals for fiscal years 2016 to 2020, the Finance Committee recently heard updates from various town boards. According to FinCom Chairman Tom Greenaway, a potential concern at the previous meeting in July was the issue of jurisdiction. “The FinCom’s jurisdiction rests primarily with making recommendations to town meeting. So all our authority is limited to our power to persuade,” Greenaway said. “In the current process, we wanted to serve as a clearinghouse of sorts and roll the findings into the town’s long-range planning.”
