Wayland’s OPEB committee hard at work

Wayland Town Crier 2/7/14: Wayland’s OPEB committee hard at work. Following the discovery in 2012 that approximately $10 million had been directed into an Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) fund to provide health benefits for retired town and school employees without having been fully vetted by Wayland voters, the Board of Selectmen created the OPEB Advisory Committee. The charge of the committee was to restore the public’s faith that the town was properly funding retiree health care and that the OPEB investment account funds were managed appropriately.
