“Singing Trooper” Dan Clark Performs At Sunrise

Sunrise of Wayland is proud to sponsor a concert with the well known “Singing Trooper” Sgt. Dan Clark, Thursday, June 6th. Refreshments will be served starting at 5:30pm and the performance will begin at 6:00pm. The Public is invited but RSVP’s are required.

Dan has performed at more than 2,500 events for Federal, State, Local, and Military functions. In addition he is able to perform 26 foreign National Anthems, in native dialects.

In 1980 Clark began serving in the United States Marine Corps, was chosen ‘honor graduate’ of his platoon from Parris Island and served meritoriously until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant in 1984.
In 1985 he became a Trooper with the legendary Massachusetts State Police and in 1988 Governor Michael Dukakis heard Clark sing at the funeral for a fallen officer and introduced him to “Kitty” Dukakis’ father, Maestro Harry Ellis Dickson of the Boston Pops. In 1993 he was invited to sing “America the Beautiful” on the occasion of the song’s 100th Anniversary on Cape Cod with Maestro Dickson for his first appearance with the Pops. Since then he has performed with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops on “Pops Goes the Fourth”, opened numerous games and seasons performing the National Anthem for the New England Patriots, and the Boston Red Sox, including the Ted Williams Tribute with the United States Marine Corps Band in 2002. In 2012 the National Geographic Channel used his National Anthem as a part of the 100th anniversary tribute documentary for the historic Fenway Park! Dan has appeared on numerous television shows and been featured in People Magazine.

In July 2005 Sgt Clark retired from the Massachusetts State Police to pursue a professional singing career. He continues to travel the Region and the Nation with his unique style of inspiration and entertainment!
