Wayland Patch 4/16/13: Marathon Canceled Before Most Wayland Runners Record Official Finishes. Nine Wayland runners completed the Boston Marathon before the explosions that occurred in two locations along the finishing stretch on Boylston Street Monday afternoon.

That means that 22 individuals from Wayland were unable to officially finish the race before the explosions. Of those 22, the Boston Athletic Association website reports that two individuals didn’t ever begin the race.
