Wayland Police Department report Breaking and Entering arrest

Wayland Patch 3/20/13: Dog Walker Interrupts Loose Change Thief. A local dog walker arrived at her client’s Main Street home Monday and was surprised to find a strange older model pickup truck in the driveway. According to police, the dog walker headed inside where she talked with an unfamiliar man. Though she didn’t know him, police said she told them she assumed he was supposed to be there.

Wayland Police Department Press Release:

On Monday, March 18, 2013, the Wayland Police Department received a complaint regarding a past residential break & entering and larceny that occurred at a Main Street residence.  The residential break and entering was interrupted by a dog walker arriving at the residence and finding an unknown male inside of the residence.

An investigation was conducted and the Wayland Police Department was able to identify, Joseph J. Sweeney (7/2/63) of 7 Pryor Road, Natick, Massachusetts, as the individual who was inside of the residence.  Subsequently, Sweeney has been charged with one count of Larceny over $250, one count of Malicious Destruction of Property over $250 and one count of Break & Entering Daytime for a felony.  Sweeney is currently in custody and being held on a Probation Violation warrant as well as the warrant that the Wayland Police Department has obtained.

This case was investigated by Officer Seanna Lombardo and Detective Sergeant Jamie D. Berger of the Wayland Police Department.
