A Dudley Pond resident reports that the ice thickness this year has been uneven, and there have been people venturing out without checking. Ice thickness ranges from 1-2 inches in some spots to just barely frozen in others. With the impending storm, the snow may further encourage people to venture onto the ice without checking.  What may be solid ice in one area still may be thin underneath in another.  Note: the Town does not check or approve ice on any of the town’s ponds.
