Player and Team Selection process

Players Selection.
  • Commitment – players who can commit to both spring and summer will be given preference.
  • Ability- player maturity- each player will be evaluated based upon baseball skill and maturity.
  • Attitude.
Looking to field an All Wayland Team-  no player willing to make the commitment and with the proper attitude and maturity will be turned away.  We will carry alternates who can practice with the team and be provided with at least 4 games per season.

TEAM SELECTION

We will evaluate the level of commitment and player availability at each level and age group.
Final teams will be selected based upon age and player participation and we will only form team if we can be competitive.

For instance-
Scenario 1 -If we have 3-9 yr olds,  10- 10 yr olds and 3- 11 yr olds.  It is most likely we will have 1 – 10U team. And no option available for the 11s.
Scenario 2- If we have 5-9yr olds,  5- 10 yr olds and 10-11 yr olds, we will most likely field 1 -11U team and not have option for 9 yr olds.

NOTE-  we would like to have an all Wayland Team-  however, if we have enough players and we can join another program, we may form a Wayland/Weston or Wayland/Natick team.
