Preview of Board of Selectmen Meeting, September 10, 2012

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday, September 10, 2012 in Town Building. After reviewing the agenda for the viewing public and receiving public comment, Selectmen will hear a presentation by Roy MacDowell of Keystone Development regarding his modified plan for developing housing units on the Danforth site off Old Connecticut Path just across the town line in Framingham.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., the temporary Town Center Green Design Advisory Committee will present their recommended concept plan and discuss with Selectmen next steps for funding and constructing the ammenities at the Town Center site.

Next, the Board will interview two citizens interested in appointment to the Finance Committee vacancy created by the resignation of Paul Grasso. Frank Krasin and Steven Lesser will interview to fill the unexpired term ending June 30, 2014. Kate Moore previously interviewed and will also be considered.

Following the interviews, Selectmen will consider the order of articles for the petitioned Special Town Meeting and also determine which board member will be assigned as liaison for each article or resolution. The Board will also make a final determination on the use of electronic voting and approve the venue at the high school (either auditorium or Field House). Other related matters such as the schedule for related meetings, expenses related to holding the meeting, and deadlines for publication of the Warrant will also be discussed.

After considering the consent calendar and reviewing correspondence, Selectmen will then listen to the report of the town administrator, including an update on the FY2014 annual operating and capital budget process, the projected calendar for budget development and meetings related to Annual Town Meeting, and future meeting agenda items. During Selectmen’s Reports and Concerns, the Board will discuss and consider clarifications requested by members of the Audit Committee regarding their scope of work and will review and approve the draft letter reflecting the August 27 meeting discussion on the Open Meeting Law complaint filed by George Harris on August 22, 2012.

The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room.
