Sudbury Valley Trustees Earth Day Trail-a-Thon on April 29 at the Memorial Forest

Earth Day is a day to celebrate the awesome natural world that surrounds us, and to question, as its guardians, how we can help protect it. Land trusts, with their contribution to open space, safe habitat, clean air and clean water are certainly a part of the solution. Your support of your local land trust is one way to show you care.

So please join SVT for its 1st Earth Day “Trail-a-Thon” on April 29, beginning at noon, at the GeneralFederation of Women’s Clubs of Massachusetts Memorial Forest on Dutton Road in Sudbury. The walk will include a 10K (6.2 miles) route or a family-friendly 3K (under 2 miles) loop. Naturalists will be stationed along the trails to introduce walkers to the many habitats existing on the property. A scavenger hunt will be available for the younger participants- or the young-at-heart. Refreshments will be served. Patches will be awarded.

All adult walkers are encouraged to maximize sponsorship, but must be willing to commit to a $25 minimum contribution. All sponsors pledging $25 or more will receive a one-year membership to SVT, enabling them to learn more about the organization and its accomplishments.

As a walker, a sponsor, or a volunteer, your support will enable SVT to continue its mission of protecting land and wildlife habitat in the watershed of the Concord, Assabet and Sudbury rivers.
