Bella Cappella to perform at the Dudley Chateau on Thursday, March 22; collecting donations to the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund

Bella Cappella, a local 12-woman a cappella group, will perform live at the Dudley Chateau in Wayland on Thursday, March 22nd at 7:30pm.  Admission is free, but a good faith donation of $5 is recommended and will go directly to the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund.

Bella Cappella was formed in 2010 when a few Wayland women decided to organize a group of mothers to sing together. “This is my version of ‘book group,’” said co-Founder, Robin Jones. “We weren’t sure how it would work out, but we discovered that we sound great together. We work hard at it; we meet every Monday night for about two hours to learn and rehearse. In the process we’ve become a true sisterhood.  Musically and personally, the whole group is simply a gift.”

The “Bellas” come from Wayland, Weston and Sudbury and perform a range of music from R & B, Jazz, Pop, and eclectic pieces.  This group of working and full-time moms performs in all kinds of events and venues, including church and community events, nursing homes, and house parties. The group’s primary mission is to help raise money for good causes by performing at fundraising events free of charge. The March 22nd performance at the Chateau in Wayland will raise funds and awareness for the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund.

“When we first got together, we were primarily focused on the joy of learning and singing together,” said co-Founder and Music Director, Amy Meneely. “After a while, we realized we were good enough to perform publicly and decided we could use our group talent as a way to give back and make people smile. Music is universal, it brings people together and it makes people feel good. We’re happy to share our love of music with all sorts of audiences.”

Bella Cappella is live on Thursday, March 22nd at 7:30pm at the Dudley Chateau, Wayland.
