Wayland resident receives prize for cancer research

Wayland Town Crier 10/9/11: Wayland resident receives prize for cancer research. The Paul Marks Prize for Cancer Research recognizes a new generation of leaders who are making significant contributions to the understanding of cancer or are improving the treatment of the disease through basic or clinical research. The prize is intended to encourage young investigators who have a unique opportunity to help shape the future of cancer research. One of the 2011 winners is Scott A. Armstrong of Wayland, MD, PhD, who works at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children’s Hospital Boston. His achievements in cancer genomics and stem cell research are leading to potential new leukemia therapies.
