Wayland Town Crier 7/28/11: Wayland father and daughter taking on Pan-Mass. Challenge. There’s probably no such thing as a “typical” cancer patient or a “typical” cancer family. But the Washeks of Wayland are most likely typical of the people who will participate in the upcoming Pan-Mass. Challenge (PMC) to raise money for Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. They have been intimately touched by the disease. On Aug 6, electrician Kevin Washek, who has lived in Wayland all his life, and his 19-year-old daughter Kathryn will ride the 84-mile Wellesley-to-Bourne segment of the event, as wife and mother Pam recovers from surgery to treat her second go-round with cancer.
