Nature Programming at Cochituate State Park

Looking for some fun, educational, and FREE summer activities for your children? Come to Cochituate State Park Tuesday-Saturday for fun family programs. Most programming is at the Nature Center, which is to the right as you enter the park.

Meet at the Boat Ramp on Tuesdays at 11:00 to Paddle Lake Cochituate. Bring your own kayaks/canoes or rent from Charles River Canoe and Kayak. Receive a 20% off discount for coming on the program. Come to the Nature Center Tuesdays at 2:00 to Learn to Fish. All materials provided. Crafts and Story time happens on Wednesdays at 11:00 with a different theme each week. Water Comes to Boston is a historical program about Lake Cochituate that happens at the beach on Wednesdays at 2:00. Two programs happen on Thursdays with new themes each week. The Kidleidoscope program is at 11:00 for ages 3-6 and Junior Rangers is at 2:00 for ages 7-11.

On Fridays, recreation and sports equipment are available for group activities in the field by the Nature Center at 11:00. In the afternoon, there is a beach exploration at 2:00. Come visit the Nature Center Saturday afternoons from 1:00-3:30 for a variety of activities. These programs are free and sponsored by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. There is a $5 parking fee at the park.
