NECN 7/6/11: Wayland investigation turns to motives in murder (with video). As the town of Wayland, Mass., tries to come to grips with the death of a popular student and the arrest of her former boyfriend for murder, investigators are trying to piece together evidence from the days leading up to the crime. Nathaniel Fujita, 18, is being held without bail after neing charged with the murder of 18-year-old Lauren Astley over the holiday weekend. Astley's body was found in a marshy area off Route 27 in Wayland on Monday morning. She and Fujita had reportedly dated for three years. Prosecutors shared information on the evidence they found inside Fujita's home connecting him to the murder, but they are still trying to gather a picture of the final days before Astley's death.
