National MS Society: MS Minuteman Ride. Want to bicycle through historic MetroWest communities while raising money to help fight multiple sclerosis? On Saturday, July 16, "Bike MS: Minuteman Ride'' will offer fun, well-supported bicycle routes of 25 and 60 miles through several MetroWest communities. Organized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter, the Minuteman Ride will raise money to help people with multiple sclerosis and to fund cutting-edge MS research. The Minuteman Ride starts and finishes at the Concord District Court House at 305 Walden St. in Concord. It has well-stocked rest stops, experienced safety teams, skilled mechanics from Wheelworks and Landry's Bicycles, enthusiastic volunteers and a barbeque at the finish line. The 60-mile route starts in Concord and travels through Lincoln, Wayland, and Sudbury, back through Concord and into Stowe, Hudson, Acton, and Carlisle before ending in Concord. The 25-mile rides goes from Concord through Lincoln, Wayland, and Sudbury, back through Concord and into Sudbury before finishing in Concord. The registration fee is $35 and each rider agrees to raise at least $250. Check-in opens Saturday at 7:30am, rides start at 9am and close at 3pm. Bicyclists can register as an individual or team at www.bikeMSgne.org and explore fund-raising options on-line. Late registrations are accepted in-person Saturday morning at check-in.
