The festive and provocative new paintings of Wayland artist, Anne Gilson Haney will be exhibited at the Mercury Gallery this month with an opening reception this Sunday June 19 from 3 – 5. The Mercury Gallery is located in beautiful Rockport Massachusetts, the tip of Cape Ann. With the incredible new music venue, Shalin Liu Performance Center, directly across the street from the gallery, and overlooking the Atlantic ocean, Rockport is a wonderful destination spot and hosts countless art events. Mercury Gallery has represented Anne's work for years. Her paintings have been featured in numerous solo and group shows in the New England area. Anne began her career as a community mural artist. Working with Sidewalk Sam, Judge Baker Children's Center, and City Year, She led art projects and after-school programs for kids at-risk in Boston. After moving to Wayland in 1996, she left community art and established herself as a painter. Anne and her husband, Bill, have three teenagers. Bill, is a film producer and president of Blu Homes.
