MFA EARLY ADMISSION/TOUR of CHIHULY Blown Glass Exhibit
Thurs., June 23. Leave Wayland Town Building at 8:30am, Return by 3:30pm. Early admission , guided tour, motorcoach transportation all included for $55.

SUMMER DRAWING WORKSHOP
Instructor: Margret Krakauer., Thursdays, 10am-11:30am, COA-Town Building, July 14-Aug 4 (4wk session), Course Fee: $40
This course is designed for those students who want to learn the
 basics or perfect their drawing skills.
 
Calling all Watercolorists:  Outdoor Painting Series
Explore many scenic locations in and around Wayland. Five intensive days of painting (5, Thursday sessions, Noon – 5pm.) Each session will begin by discussing subject of the day, lighting conditions and a demo. David Lang and Bill Sterling, both accomplished artists will be the group facilitators, guiding the artistic process and leading a group review at the end of each session to discuss each artist’s work. Course fee: $125. Starts June 30. There may be a few “part time” openings ($75) for artists who are only able to attend three or fewer classes.

Friday, June 24:  IRON WILL (1994) Drama/Action/Inspirational, PG, 1hr49min, Starring: Mackenzie Astin, Kevin Spacey (Great reviews for this older movie.) When Will Stoneman’s father dies, he is left alone to take care of his mother and their land. Needing money to maintain it, he decides to join a cross country dogsled race requiring days of racing for long hours, through harsh weather and terrain. A Disney production.
 
PICKLEBALL, A Growing National Past Time!,  Monday, June 20, 10am, COA
Dick Gillis at Longfellow’s “Zip Zone” will give a brief overview with video on this competitive game. It is a cross between ping pong, badminton and tennis using a Wiffle ball. This is great exercise and an inexpensive game to play at Zip Zone – part of Longfellow Club (Rte 20, Wayland)
 
PROPERTY TAX WORK OFF PROGRAM
Applications available June 1 at the COA office for any senior aged 60yr + who would like to assist Town Departments on specific projects, working 62 hours for a $500 credit on their tax bill. Applicant skills will be matched with a department’s needs. Positions to start as early as July 1.
 
IMPORTANT REMINDER MEDICAL TAXI TICKETS
The last day to use a yellow Medical Taxi Voucher with JFK transportation is June 30, 2011; these yellow vouchers can be returned to the COA for reimbursement until Sept. 30, 2011. Residents may purchase green Medical Taxi Vouchers starting June 1st; these vouchers will be valid until June 30, 2012.
