Tornado Watch Issued for Wayland

Wayland Patch 6/1/11: Tornado Watch Issued for Wayland. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Middlesex County, which includes the Town of Wayland. According to the NWS website, a cold front will move through the area today, with a low probabiliity of severe thunderstorms developing. These storms are expected to reach Boston between 4 and 5 p.m. The main threats from any these storms will be damaging winds and large hail. A tornado watch is issued when conditions favor tornadic activity. According to http://www.spc.noaa.gov, it does not mean tornadoes are imminent, just that you need to be alert, and to be prepared to go to safe shelter if tornadoes do happen or a warning is issued.
