Wayland High School students become ‘weed warriors’

Wayland Town Crier 5/15/11: Wayland High School students become ‘weed warriors’. Students in Ms. Riseman’s Wayland High School honors biology class were tasked with “a project that has a positive impact on our ecosystem.” Freshman Bennett Keyes took the initiative to contact the Wayland Surface Water Quality Committee and asked if there were any projects that he and three classmates could participate in to satisfy their honors biology class assignment.

As chance would have it, the committee was initiating the second phase of a project to study the nutrient (phosphorus) impact of septic tanks on Dudley Pond, and needed data to be gathered as a part of the project
