The WBSA Frozen Ropes developmental baseball program is designed to increase the player’s baseball skills. The program will be lead by trained Frozen Ropes Instructors with the assistance of WBSA Volunteer Coaches. There are four components of the game we will be focusing on:
- 1. Skills (Hitting, throwing and fielding)
- 2. Diamond strength – We will perform exercises to increase the player’s strength, speed, power, flexibility, stamina, accuracy, endurance, agility, and coordination. These are important components to focus on in order for athletes to reach their full potential.
- 3. Visual training- Specific hitting drills designed to help players focus and track the baseball.
- 4. Show Time training- Players will learn specific skills to deal with the mental side of the game. Striking out, making an error or a bad call by the umpire can be frustrating. Our players learn the “power of the flush” or the ability to forget about negative thoughts that could affect their performance on the field.
The first hour – The Frozen Ropes instructors and WBSA coaches will be teaching drills that will develop specific skills in hitting, fielding and throwing. The second hour We will apply the skills learned in our developmental game. This will be a coach-pitch game. There will be offensive and defensive rules every inning. Players will be working on different developmental skills every inning while learning to apply their skill work in a game situation.
