We have posted to the Wayland town website the text of all articles submitted for consideration at the 2011 Annual Town Meeting (see article text online).  Visit the link to the April 2011 Annual Town Meeting under “Timely Information” to review the handout that will be available at the Finance Committee article hearing on Monday, January 31 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Building.  There is a separate link to the text of the zoning recodification bylaw.

The webpage also provides links to directly related information such as the most recent edition of the Moderator’s Rules and Regulations governing the conduct of Town Meetings in Wayland and a series of frequently asked questions and answers related to the zoning recodification bylaw (see FAQ online).  Use the Town Meeting General Information link on the home page to access past Town Meeting Warrants and information on the work of the four temporary advisory committees appointed by the Moderator to make recommendations to him on various aspects of town meeting.  New information will be posted as the Annual Town Meeting approaches.  

In addition, residents are encouraged to take note of some other unique features for the 2011 Annual Town Meeting.  Due to the construction at Wayland High School, the next several Town Meetings will be held in the Middle School Gymnasium.  This facility seats about 750 for town meetings, so we will be providing seating in either the cafeteria or the auditorium with video/audio connection to the main venue.  By vote of the 2010 Annual Town Meeting, the Town accepted a gift demonstration of electronic voting to be utilized to determine decisions at the 2011 Annual Town Meeting.  Town Moderator Peter Gossels has appointed a temporary advisory committee to assist with the integration of this technology.  While opinions vary as to the extent, we anticipate curiosity for the impact of the trial technology on the flow and pace of town meeting will have some effect on attendance.
