Wayland Patch 1/19/11: Selectmen Interview for Economic Committee, Seek More Volunteers. Members of the Board of Selectmen interviewed 16-year Wayland resident Dave Watkins to fill a vacancy on the Economic Development Committee during their Jan. 18 meeting. Watkins, who came to Wayland in 1994, founded Softscape, Inc., a human resources software developer that was recently purchased by SumTotal Systems. Also on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting was interviewing candidates for chair of the Dudley Area Advisory Committee, but Selectmen Chair Steve Correia said candidates are still needed, and encouraged individuals with good management and communication skills to come forward for consideration. Selectmen also approved the draft of a letter to be sent to the state Attorney General in response to an open meeting complaint filed in early January.
