Wayland Patch 1/7/11: School Committee Hears Superintendent’s Recommended Budget.  Recommended budget meets Finance Committee guidelines, includes new positions and avoids increases in student fees.

Wayland’s School Committee convened Thursday night to discuss Superintendent Gary Burton’s recommended FY2012 budget. It is the 17th and final budget recommendation presentation the retiring Burton will offer to the committee. The Finance Committee’s guidelines require the School Committee budget to remain flat at $31,382,713, but the Finance Committee has offered to supply $425,000 for staff increases and $75,000 for special education and student transportation costs on top of that flat budget number.
