Sundays, December 12 and 19, Bella Cappella Performance, Whole Foods, 2-3pm

Bella Cappella, a local mom’s a cappella group, will be caroling outside of Whole Foods.  The group, consisting of 12 women from Wayland, Weston and Sudbury, will be singing and collecting canned goods this holiday season for Parmenter Food Pantry in Wayland.

Bella Cappella was formed just one year ago by three Wayland women who believe that singing is as important to the body and mind as physical exercise and healthy eating.  "The real goal of this group was to bring together moms who have a strong love for singing," says co-founder Robin Jones. "This is a serious time commitment, a lot of work and a ton of fun! To me, after our rehearsals, the feeling is equivalent to having gone for a long run, it really boosts your endorphins. It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to be around other women who share many common bonds including a love for music."

"We pulled the group together purely by word of mouth and it’s been incredible getting to know these women," said Amy Meneely, musical director of Bella Cappella. "Singing is an emotional experience and takes courage. It’s been a challenge and a pleasure to draw these women out of their comfort zone and take a leap of faith in their own voices."  The group, which gets together one evening a week for two hours of rehearsal, does local performances in and around the MetroWest area. The music ranges from pop, folk, R&B and doo-wop to jazz standards.
