Wayland firefighter was ‘lovable, vivacious’

Wayland Town Crier 11/11/10: Wayland firefighter was 'lovable, vivacious'. Hundreds of mourners filled St. Patrick's Church in Natick yesterday to bid farewell to Wayland firefighter Peter Regan, a 13-year veteran of the department and lifelong Natick resident. Regan died last Thursday of injuries he received when he was crushed by a car he was working on in his garage earlier that week. He was 44. Firefighters from throughout the state stood at attention as Wayland Engine 3, covered in flowers, led the funeral procession under a U.S. flag suspended high above East Central Street. The cortege rolled past the Natick fire station toward the church as trucks draped in purple and black flashed their lights in tribute. Wayland and Natick police officers, and an honor guard of firefighters saluted as Regan's coffin entered St. Patrick's.
