Historical Society sponsors talk on early Wayland development

Wayland Town Crier 11/4/10: Historical Society sponsors talk on early Wayland development. Edward Mendler, one of a small group of men who had a hand in planning Wayland’s post-World War II developments, laying out roads, carving out lots, and writing easements for bridle trails, will relive this history (and some of the philosophy that went into it) at a talk sponsored by the Wayland Historical Society on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. He will also explain how the Wayland Real Estate Company grew out of the purchase of the massive Shaw estate in 1947. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Grout-Heart House Museum next to the library in the town center. For more information call 508-358-7959.
