Wayland Town Crier 11/4/10: Historical Society sponsors talk on early Wayland development. Edward Mendler, one of a small group of men who had a hand in planning Wayland’s post-World War II developments, laying out roads, carving out lots, and writing easements for bridle trails, will relive this history (and some of the philosophy that went into it) at a talk sponsored by the Wayland Historical Society on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. He will also explain how the Wayland Real Estate Company grew out of the purchase of the massive Shaw estate in 1947.
