Worcester Telegram 7/4/10: State casts an eye to future. State officials have launched a wide-ranging development study of MetroWest and beyond — from Interstate 495 to Worcester — to prepare for growth in the region. The development compact, as it is called, is to create a “shared framework” for sustainable growth and development and land preservation for 36 communities in MetroWest and Central Massachusetts. The goal is to create a priority list of infrastructure projects — including transportation and water projects — that need to be addressed over the next 20 years.
