Press Release from Police Department on Vehicle Burglary

On April 23, 2010, police responded to a burglary from a motor vehicle on Sherman Bridge Road near the bridge. A woman had parked her car there while she kayaked on the Sudbury River. When the woman returned to her vehicle, she discovered that the rear driver side window had been smashed out and her pocketbook was stolen from the back seat. There were no witnesses or leads in the case.

Police advise people that are parking their vehicles in conservation or recreation areas to lock their vehicle and do not leave valuables in the passenger compartment. Thefts such as this tend to happen in multiples and anyone who sees anyone acting suspiciously near a vacant automobile is asked to contact the Wayland Police Department immediately.
