Wayland Town Crier 4/2/10: Wayland church witnesses plight firsthand in Haiti.Rev. Joseph Sapienza, senior pastor of Celebration International Church and CEO of Bread of Compassion, led a group of 22 people to help the people of Haiti 11 days after American Airlines resumed its flights to Port-Au-Prince. The group witnessed unimaginable horrors and destruction – people scooping water from gutters, flattened buildings with visible human remains, people living in huge tent cities in lowlands soon to be flooded with rains, old people mourning their sons and daughters, children orphaned, the Hall of Justice flattened with files and papers blowing amid the rubble.
