Wayland Town Crier 4/2/10: Classic Shakespeare thriller comes to Blackbox Theater. Be sure to catch Wayland High School’s production of "Macbeth" in the High School’s Blackbox Theater starting Wednesday, April 7. According to director Richard Weingartner, theater arts teacher at Wayland High, "Macbeth" is one of the more popular Shakespeare pieces because of its modern themes. "It’s a thriller, a revenge story, it is filled with chase scenes, and the characters are haunted by the past and their decisions," he says. "Typical Shakespeare – there is a lot of kissing and killing." "Macbeth" will be performed as a one-act play. Performances are Wednesday to Saturday, April 7 to 10, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7. They are available online and at the door.
