Waters could be a health hazard

Metrowest Daily News 3/21/10: Waters could be a health hazard. Washing thoroughly after coming in contact with flood waters may be critical to your health, say state and local health officials following days of rain, rising rivers and flooded basements. "Assume there's something not good for you in that water," said Peter Judge, a spokesman for the Framingham-based Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. After last week's downpour, Judge said stagnant water likely contains sewage, oil and trash. He advises people to wash with soap anything that comes in contact with this brew.
