Metrowest Daily News 6/7/09: The Sudbury River’s future – Will it survive?. Conservation groups say the waterway today is a destination for canoeists, kayakers, other boaters, birdwatchers and catch-and-release fishermen. But it also faces threats from tainted stormwater, invasive plants and a strained watershed. The river’s assets will be at center stage during River Fest, a two-day celebration June 13 and 14, which includes events in towns along the river, including a history paddle in Wayland on Saturday, 9am-noon, and a Riverside picnic at 11:30am.
