Weston Town Crier 4/23/09: Sweet sounds coming from students with SmartMusic. Learning to play an instrument can sometimes be challenging to students, music educators and parents. For years, students have resisted practicing and reminders are often met with eyeball rolling and foot stomping. To help turn this attitude around, the Weston and Wayland public schools have integrated SmartMusic software into the music education curriculum, a comprehensive music practice system that enables students to have fun while practicing. SmartMusic also provides context for students, who hear all the other instruments in an ensemble minus their part, which makes for a more satisfying practice session.
