WayCAM “Video-on-Demand” on the Web seeks donations

VideoOnDemand (VOD) means you choose when to view; when it’s convenient for you… using the Web.  The recent Electronic Communications Committee’s (ECC) survey, reports that Wayland residents want this service from WayCAM Public Access TV.  Every resident with a high speed Web connection will be able to download Town government meetings, like Selectmen, School Committee, FinCom and other Town boards, committees and public hearings produced by WayCAM. It also means school sports and plays, and WayCAM programs produced by local, community producers.

WayCAM recently purchased the special equipment which enables us to provide VOD. There’s only one thing standing in the way: 2009 Budget restraints. We can’t spend what we don’t yet have, which means a 12-18 month delay… unless the Wayland community helps us make it happen sooner!  We need help to bridge an unfunded, $3,000 budget gap between now and 2010.   A small, one-time donation of $10 or $20 or $25, whatever you can afford, from 150 to 200 residents, would enable us to begin providing WayCAM VOD as soon as this June 1st.   Is it worth $10 to $25, to be able to download WayCAM programs OnDemand, NOW, instead of waiting until late in 2010?
