Board of Assessors Candidate: Mary-Ann Wohlfarth

Candidate Statement:

Hello Wayland neighbors:

I am running for the Board of Assessor’s in Wayland and would appreciate your vote! I am a 28-year resident of Wayland, parent of three children, and an active participant in town and school activities.

I am currently the Assistant Assessor for the Town of Sudbury, Massachusetts. I am working towards my certification as a licensed Assessor for any municipality in the State. Prior to this I was employed by the town of Wayland in the Assessor’s office for three years. I have worked with the current Principal Assessor, and all current Board members, and I coordinated many Board meetings and minutes.

My goal in being elected to the Board is to be an active participant in assuring that assessments are fair, equitable, and up to date. In my current job with Sudbury I have been diligent in analyzing the data of all 2022 sales and making sure 10-year cyclical inspections are accurate. Up to date accurate data is the key!

I am a licensed Real Estate Agent in Massachusetts. For 14 years I have worked in the Residential Real Estate field as a project coordinator and team member with a top-producing Agent in the Metro West Boston area. Combining my graphic design skills and marketing skills with my interest in the field enabled me to assist in coordinating photo shoots, writing copy for brochures, and implementing social media and a business website for this Agent. In addition, there were many details I managed, from marketing the homes to gathering documentation for closing transactions. Prior to Real estate, I have worked as a graphic designer producing newsletters, e-blasts, logos, brochures and other various media. My career began in printing, publishing and customer training. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Printing Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), a BFA from RISD in Graphic Design.

My service to Wayland includes 5 years as a Housing Authority board member and 11 years to keeping kids safe as a crossing guard.

Please vote for me on April 25. Note that the last day to apply to vote by mail is April 18, 2023. Be sure to watch the League of Women Voters Candidates night Thursday April 13th at 7pm. Thank you.
