Wayland Town Crier 4/1/13: Wayland resident attends important summit. Michael A. Schreiber of Wayland, president of Michael A. Schreiber & Associates in Wellesley Hills, attended the fifth annual Barron’s Top Independent Advisors Summit, hosted by Barron’s magazine to promote best practices in the industry. The invitation-only conference was held at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes on March 6 to 8 in Orlando, Fla.

Wayland Town Crier 3/6/13: Wayland illustrator brings ‘Shark Baby’ to life. New to bookstores this spring, Shark Baby by Ann Downer and illustrated by Shennen Bersani of Wayland, introduces children to a unique shark and his underwater world.

Wayland Town Crier 1/17/13: Former School Committee member looking to become judge. Robert Gordon, an attorney at a Boston private law firm for more than two decades, has always wanted to be a judge. “I have wanted to be a judge for as far back as I can remember,” he told members of the Governor’s Council on Wednesday afternoon during his confirmation hearing. Gordon, who lives in Wayland and served on the School Committee, is one of Gov. Deval Patrick’s picks for Superior Court. Patrick resubmitted his nomination to the new council in January. He was the second nominee to appear before the eight-member council, which has four new members this year.

Wayland Town Crier 12/24/12: Wayland resident profiled on PBS web series. Dr. Bruce A. Jackson of Wayland, professor of biotechnology at Massachusetts Bay Community College, was selected by PBS’s NOVA series to be profiled for their “The Secret Life of Scientists & Engineers” web series.

People Magazine December 2012:  Farewell Neighbor.  After Pam Washek’s neighbors stepped in to help the mom of three as she first faced cancer, she was inspired to create what’s become the Neighbor Brigade.  Sadly, Washek’s cancer returned; she died December 2 at 47.

Wayland Patch 8/24/12: Wayland Resident, Neighbor Brigade Featured in 'People'. Pam Washek, Wayland resident and co-founder/executive director of Neighbor Brigade, is featured with other volunteers in the “Heroes Among Us” section of People magazine’s Sept. 3 issue. The issue, according to the Neighbor Brigade page on Facebook, is on newsstands now.

Wayland Town Crier 7/9/12: Wayland residents join Board of Directors at Harvard Club. The Harvard Club in Concord (HCC) held its Annual Dinner at the Middlesex School in Concord on June 11. HCC President Diana Beaudoin welcomed over 60 alumni and guests, acknowledging the 375th anniversary of the founding of Harvard. New members to the Board of Directors were introduced, following a vote of affirmation by club members, including Robin Tapper, Jody Sabia Pongratz and Mandi Z. Kunen, all of Wayland.
